AI agent finds 21 FFmpeg zero-days; Chrome ships record 429 security fixes.
A security startup reportedly used an autonomous AI agent to find 21 previously unknown vulnerabilities in FFmpeg, the media library used across many video-processing systems. Separately, Google shipped Chrome 149 with 429 security fixes, described by reports as a record single-release patch volume. The most important point is not only the bugs themselves, but the scale: AI-assisted vulnerability discovery is starting to produce more findings than maintainers and vendors can comfortably process. The FFmpeg findings and Chrome patch volume were reported together as a sign of a widening discovery-versus-fixing gap
